Confidence in the mechanisms that protect Confidentiality, Integrity and Reputation can be substantially increased through the assessment of a web application. With the explosion in corporate web utilisation, the number and variety of technologies employed have increased. However, this increase has not necessarily been mirrored by increased awareness of the security implications of their use.

The Test Team will employ tools and techniques in an attempt to subvert the application into behaving in a way that is erroneous or insecure; thereby exposing the flaws that a potential attacker may employ to compromise the application.
